مضمون میں بتایا گیا ہے کہ سائنس دان ابھی تک اس سوال کا جواب نہیں دے سکے کہ شعور کیا ہے؟ بلکہ کچھ ارتقائی ماہرین جیسے رچرڈ لیونٹن خود تسلیم کرتے ہیں کہ وہ پہلے مادہ پرست ہیں، بعد میں سائنسدان۔
