یہ اس دورکی کہانی ہے،جب محبت ایک عبادت کی طرح کی جاتی تھی۔ یہ پاکیزہ محبتیں شہوت سے پاک تھیں اور محبت کرنےوالے جوڑے ایک دوسرے کے عمر بھر کے ساتھی بننا پسند کرتے تھے۔ اس کہانی کامرکزی کردارجہانگیرخان عرف جہاناں دوسرے گاؤں اور غیربرادری کی ایک لڑکی کی محبت میں گرفتار ہوگیا۔ یہ نوجوان کبڈی کھیلتاتھا اور ورزش کاشوقین تھا،مگر غریب گھرنےسے تعلق رکھتاتھا۔ جب کہ لڑکی ایک بڑے باغ کے مالک کی بیٹی تھی۔ محبت میں پہل اسی نےکی تھی۔
اس کہانی کے راوی صابرحسین راجپوت ایک پیشہ ورشکاری تھے۔ جہانگیر نے انہیں اپنا رازدان بنایاتھا اور مشورہ بھی مانگا کہ کس طرح وہ اپنی اور اس لڑکی کے گھروالوں کوراضی کرے ۔ کیوں کہ ان دنوں برادری سے باہر رشتہ دینےکو عیب سمجھاجاتاتھا۔ یہ دونوں دوست ایک بار ایک شکاری پارٹی میں شامل تھے کہ جہانگیر کسی وقت چپکےسے ان سے الگ ہوکر قریب ہی واقع اپنی محبوبہ کے گاؤں کی طرف نکل گیا۔حالاں کہ وہاں اس کےلیے خطرہ تھا، مگر محبت ان خطرات کی پروا کہاں کرتی ہے؟۔
شکار سے واپسی پر ان کےکتّے ایک گیڈر کے پیچھے لگ کر ایک قدرتی سرنگ میں گھُس گئے۔ مجبوراً انہیں بھی اپنے کتوں کو واپس لانےکےلیے اس سوراخ میں گھسنا پڑا۔ یہ سوراخ جس گڑھے میں ختم ہوا، وہاں انہیں خون کےنشانات نظرآئے۔گڑھے سے باہرنکل کر وہ ایک باغ میں پہنچے ،جہاں کے مالی نے انہیں بتایا کہ یہاں ان گڑھوں میں ایک لڑکی کوسانپ نے ڈس لیاتھا، مگر اس نے خود ہی سانپ کے کاٹے کا علاج کیا اور اپنے گھرچلی گئی۔
جب یہ شکاری پارٹی اپنے گاؤں پہنچی تو معلوم ہوا کہ جہانگیر ابھی تک نہیں پہنچا، مگر شام تک وہ واپس آگیا اور اس نےتصدیق کی کہ وہ اپنی محبوبہ سے ملنے اس کےگاؤں چلاگیاتھا، مگر اس سے ملاقات نہیں ہوسکی۔ بعد میں پتہ چلاکہ اسے سانپ نےکاٹ لیاتھا۔ اس نے خود ہی فوری طور پر اس زخم سے خون چوس کر پھینکا اور اپنا دوپٹہ اس جگہ باندھ دیا۔ یوں وہ وقتی طور پر سانپ کے زہر سے محفوظ ہوگئی۔ بعدازاں اس کے گھروالوں نے گاؤں کےحکیم سے سانپ کے کاٹے کی دوائیاں وغیرہ لےکر اسے کھلائیں۔ یوں وہ بالکل ٹھیک ہوگئی۔
اس واقعے کےکچھ روز بعد جہانگیر بیمار پڑگیا۔ ہر طرح کاعلاج کیاگیا،مگر اس کی حالت دن بدن بد سے بدتر ہوتی گئی۔ یہاں تک کہ اس کےدوست اورگھروالے اسے گاؤں سے بغرضِ علاج شہر لےآئے۔ ڈاکٹروں کو شک ہوا کہ اسے زہردیاگیاہے، مگر خود جہانگیر اس سے انکاری تھا کہ اس نے کوئی مشکوک چیز کھائی ہے۔ بالآخر ایک رات اس کی موت کا وقت قریب آگیا۔ تب اس نے اپنے دوست کو، جو اس کہانی کے راوی بھی ہیں، بلایا اور انہیں یہ راز بتایا کہ اس شکار والے دن اس کی ملاقات اس گڑھے میں اپنی محبوبہ سے ہوگئی تھی۔ وہاں پر اس لڑکی کو ایک سانپ نے کاٹ لیا۔ جہانگیر نے لڑکی کے زخم پر منہ لگاکر پورے زور سے خون چوسا ،جس سے اس کامنہ خون سے بھرگیا اور لازمی طور پر تھوڑا خون اندر بھی گیا، مگر اس نے فوری طور پر اسے تھوک دیا اور اس عمل کو تین بار دہرایا کہ لڑکی کے زہریلے خون کو منہ میں بھرکر قےکی۔ پھر اس نے لڑکی کےکہنےپر اس کا دوپٹہ پھاڑ کر زخم کی جگہ پر باندھ دیا اور جب تک مالی نے اسے دیکھ نہ لیا، وہ وہیں چھپارہا۔
صابر صاحب نے یہ راز ڈاکٹر کو بتادیا۔ انہیں توپہلے ہی شک تھا۔ اس بار انہوں نے اسی حساب سے دوائیاں دیں،جن سے جہانگیر کی حالت سنبھلنےلگی۔ مگر اس کے گھروالے اسے شہر کےہسپتال سے یہ کہہ کر واپس لےگئے کہ اس کا مسئلہ روحانی ہے، گاؤں کے کسی پیربزرگ سے اس کاعلاج کرائیں گے۔ واپسی کے چند روزبعد ہی ناکافی علاج کے باعث جہانگیر کی طبیعت دوبارہ بگڑنےلگی۔ اس کےدوست اس کے گھروالوں کو بتانا چاہتےتھے کہ اس کی یہ حالت سانپ کے زہر کی وجہ سے ہوئی ہے اور یہ کہ اس کا علاج ڈاکٹر ہی صحیح طور پر کرسکتاہے، مگر جہانگیر نے لڑکی کی بدنامی کے ڈر سے انہیں یہ راز کسی کو بتانے سے منع کردیا اور بالآخر اس راز کو اپنے سینے میں لیے قبر میں چلاگیا۔
اس لڑکی کو جب جہانگیر کی موت کی بابت علم ہوا تو وہ بھی خود سے بےگانہ ہوگئی۔ اسے علم تھا کہ اس کےمحبوب کی موت دراصل اس کی اپنی جان بچاتے ہوئے واقع ہوئی۔ وہ باربار گھر سے نکل کر اس کی قبر پرچلی آتی۔ گھروالوں نے اس کی شادی کردی،مگر دوماہ بعد اسے طلاق ہوگئی۔ دراصل اپنےمحبوب کی یاد میں اس کا ذہنی توازن خراب ہوگیاتھا۔ آخر ایک دن وہ بھی چل بسی اور اس طرح محبت کی یہ کہانی اختتام کو پہنچی۔
