اسی ضمن میں مصنف نوجوانوں کے عمومی طرزِ زندگی پر روشنی ڈالتے ہیں اور واضح کرتے ہیں کہ حقیقی نوجوان وہ نہیں جو لہو و لعب اور وقتی لذتوں میں کھو جائے، بلکہ وہ ہے جو علم، فکر اور مقصدیت کے ساتھ جڑا رہے۔ امام بخاریؒ کا اپنے ہم عصروں سے الگ تھلگ رہنا اور صرف علم سے وابستہ ہونا اسی سنجیدگی اور فکری پختگی کی ایک درخشاں مثال ہے۔
مصنف نوجوانی کو زندگی کا ایک قلیل مگر نہایت مؤثر دور قرار دیتے ہیں، جو پوری زندگی کے رخ کا تعین کرتا ہے۔ عربی اشعار کے ذریعے وہ اس احساسِ زیاں کو بیان کرتے ہیں کہ جب عظیم اور محبوب لوگ دنیا سے رخصت ہو جاتے ہیں تو زندگی کی رونق ماند پڑ جاتی ہے۔ اس سے یہ حقیقت سامنے آتی ہے کہ اصل زندگی قدردار انسانوں اور بامقصد رشتوں سے وابستہ ہوتی ہے، نہ کہ محض ظاہری آسائشوں سے۔
آگے چل کر امام ماوردیؒ کے اقوال نقل کر کے نوجوانوں کو نماز، توبہ، عاجزی اور وقت کی قدر کی تلقین کی گئی ہے۔ مصنف اس حقیقت کو واضح کرتے ہیں کہ جوانی کی تازگی عارضی ہے، اور بڑھاپا و موت ایک یقینی انجام ہیں۔ جس طرح سورج طلوع کے وقت پوری آب و تاب کے ساتھ روشن ہوتا ہے مگر غروب کے وقت کمزور پڑ جاتا ہے، اسی طرح انسانی جوانی بھی رفتہ رفتہ زوال پذیر ہو جاتی ہے۔
بعد ازاں انسان کی تخلیق کے مقصد پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے بتایا گیا ہے کہ انسان کو نہ تو بے مقصد پیدا کیا گیا ہے اور نہ ہی اسے بغیر حساب چھوڑ دیا جائے گا۔ انسان کو فرشتوں اور حیوانوں کے درمیان رکھا گیا ہے: اگر وہ عبادت اور ضبطِ نفس اختیار کرے تو فرشتوں سے بلند ہو جاتا ہے، اور اگر خواہشاتِ نفس کا غلام بن جائے تو حیوانوں سے بھی بدتر ہو جاتا ہے۔ قرآنِ کریم کی آیت کے ذریعے اسی حقیقت کی تصدیق کی گئی ہے۔
آخرکار مصنف اس نتیجے پر پہنچتے ہیں کہ نوجوانی دراصل ایک کڑا امتحان ہے، جہاں عقل و ایمان ایک طرف اور نفس و خواہشات دوسری طرف انسان کو اپنی جانب کھینچتی ہیں۔ اس مسلسل کشمکش میں کامیابی صرف اسی نوجوان کا مقدر بنتی ہے جو ایمان، تقویٰ اور اخلاقی شعور کے اسلحے سے مسلح ہو۔
“کاش! نوجوانوں کو معلوم ہوتا” صرف ایک مقدمہ نہیں بلکہ نوجوان نسل کے لیے ایک فکری دستک ہے، جو انہیں غفلت کی نیند سے جگانے اور مقصدِ حیات کی طرف متوجہ کرنے کی کوشش کرتی ہے۔ یہ کتابچہ اور اس کا پس منظر یعنی “نوجوانوں کی حکایات کا انسائیکلوپیڈیا” اس حقیقت کی یاد دہانی ہے کہ اگر نوجوان اپنی قوت کو درست سمت دے دیں تو نہ صرف اپنی زندگی سنوار سکتے ہیں بلکہ پوری قوم کی تقدیر بدلنے کی صلاحیت بھی رکھتے ہیں۔ ایسے میں یہ تصنیف محض مطالعے کی چیز نہیں بلکہ عمل کی دعوت ہے، اور یہی اس کی سب سے بڑی کامیابی ہے۔۔
